Call for marshals – Santas on the Run – Saturday 29th November.

Children’s Hospice South West are in need of volunteers to be a Route marshal at their Santas on the Run on Saturday 29 November at Plym Valley Railway.

The timings for the route marshal roles are below, and supporters can choose which waves they would like to support.

• Wave 1- 11am-11.45am
• Wave 2 – 12.30pm- 1.15pm
• Wave 3 – 2pm – 2.45pm
• Wave 4 – 3.30pm- 4.15pm

Arrival, Parking and what to wear

• Please Park at Coypool Carpark at Plym Valley, Plympton, Plymouth, PL7 4TB and make your way across to Volunteer registration that will be inside one of the portacabins- please follow the arrows for directions. There is no vehicle movement on site on the day.
• We recommend you dress warm and bring waterproof clothing.
• There will be hot drinks available in the volunteer area with snacks, but we recommend you bring a packed lunch. There is also a café on site that will be making hot food.
• Your arrival and registration time will be 30 minutes before the 1^st wave you can help with
• When you arrive, you will be given a Marshal card to complete and wear in a lanyard for the day

There will be 2 sets of route marshals:

Route Marshal Team 1 – You will catch the train to the start line at Plymbridge and be placed on route between the start and half way point – you then have the choice to walk back and remain at Plymbridge or follow the walkers back to the station when stood down by the back walking marshals.

Route Marshal Team 2  – You will be placed in position by proceeding on foot between th finish line at Plym Valley station towards the half way point. You will then make your way back on foot to the station when stood down by the back walking marshal.
