All Day Ride – Sunday 2nd August 2026

Next Sunday’s all day ride will be led by Guy Mayhew. A volunteer to be Tail End Charlie would be appreciated.

Please meet at Costa Coffee, Marsh Mills, Plymouth, PL6 8LX, (///candy.hero.grades) from 9.00am with a full tank of fuel ready for a briefing at 9.20am and a prompt 9.30am departure.

The route will head to Exeter picking up the lovely roads through Haldon Forest and on towards Tiverton where we’ll stop at approx. 11:00am for a coffee (30 mins) at Bickleigh Mill, Tiverton, EX16 8RG (///hounded.gets.buildings). 

Following coffee we’ll head through the River Exe valley on the A396 and then up over Exmoor, with stunning views over the Bristol Channel, on towards Porlock Weir for lunch (1 hour) at The Ship Inn, Porlock Weir, Minehead, Somerset, TA24 8PB (///bravest.blaze.steady) arriving at approx. 12:30pm.

After lunch we’ll head to Sourton Down for a short comfort stop (20 mins) at Sourton Down Services (///catchers.folks.speeding) arriving at approx. 3.30pm.

We’ll then head back to finish the ride, where we can say our goodbyes at St Paul’s Church Carpark, Station Road, Yelverton, PL20 6AB (///cute.corrects.spike), arriving at around 4.30pm. The route will cover 171 miles in total.

The ride will be conducted in accordance with the IAM’s Group Organised Rides manual. The ride is open to all members. Associates are particularly encouraged to attend as these rides provide a great opportunity to meet fellow members and practice your skills amongst like-minded individuals. This is a social event and not an observed ride.
