This Sunday’s half day ride will be led by Steve Puckering, not forgetting Lando and George! A volunteer to be tail end Charlie would be appreciated. Please read the ‘Winter rides cancellation policy’ at the end of this message.
Please meet at Costa Coffee, Marsh Mills, Plymouth, PL6 8LX, (///candy.hero.grades) from 9.00am ready for a briefing at 9.20am and a prompt 9.30am departure.
The route will be a mystery tour throughout some of Devon and Cornwalls best roads, initially heading out via Cawsand. There will be a refreshment stop at Inkie’s Smokehouse, Golitha Falls, Drayness Bridge, Liskeard, Draynes, Liskeard, PL14 6RX, (///pegs.happening.order).
Following refreshments the return trip will be via Tavistock and the route will end at Cap’n Jaspers, 18 The Barbican, Plymouth, PL1 2LS, (///jams.many.award).
Please note, as we move through the winter rides season a decision will be made by 8.00am on the day of the ride as to whether the ride will proceed. The decision to postpone/cancel a ride will be published on Slack within the Group Rides section (For clarity, no announcement means the ride is going ahead as published).
We will make every effort to broadcast the news as widely as possible but Slack should be your ‘go to’ reference point and it is your responsibility to check the status of every ride before attending.
You can join Slack, our members only channel, here: https://join.slack.com/t/plymouthadvan-hvo1178/shared_invite/zt-lblor74l-8FqDREVw9wPE~gMgky~8Gg
Please remember, the ride will be conducted in accordance with the IAM’s Group Organised Rides manual. The ride is open to all members. Associates are particularly encouraged to attend as these rides provide a great opportunity to meet fellow members and practice your skills amongst like-minded individuals. This is a social event and not an observed ride.
You are reminded that the ride leader is responsible for navigation and route guidance only. It remains your personal responsibility to exercise your own judgement about every course of action that you take, and every rider is responsible for their own actions and the consequences that those actions may have. If you’re using satnav, be advised that it will most likely try to mislead you (if it’s anything like mine), please stick with the markers.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
